Operators employed on board slips trading to the Far East will note that arrangements have been made to transmit from the Cape d'Aguilar (Hong Kong) Radio- telegraph Station to ships at sea a sunnary of meteorological conditions and weather forecasts. return, ships will forward meteorological observations through the Cape d'Aguilar station to the Royal Observatory, Hong Kong.

In

Details of the arrangements are given hereunder:- A summary of meteorological conditions and weather forecasts will be transmitted by Cape d'Aguilar daily at 1.0 p.m. liong Kong standard time (5.0 a.m. G.X.T.).

Information concerning position and direction of

motion of typhoon centres will be transmitted to captains of ships on request.

When within range of Cape d'Aguilar the Captain will arrange for observations to be made at 6.0 a.m. and 2.0 p.m. Hong Kong time (10.0 p.m. and 6.0 a.m. O.X.T.), and a message, prepared by the observer, will be handed to the operator for transmission containing the following information:

(a) Ship's name, position, and the time of

observation (0.K.T.).

(b) Barometer reading (with no corrections

whatever).

(c) Thermometer reading (if the barometer is of

the mercurial type).

(d) Wind direction and force.

(e) State of weather (in plain language).
